Assalam-o-Alaikum!
Hi everyone,
A new forum has been created for you, the course mates of EE session 2002, to interact and colaborate with more freedom and options.
The idea of a Yahoo! group was new at that time but now live forums have replaced them. Let me first introduce what actually is a forum. Well forums are just another name for discussion boards, message boards and or whatever you name them. They enable users of a website or community to interact with each other by exchanging ideas and discussing hot topics related to a common theme.
Forums save information posted on a particular topic for other people to see at any time, this creates a discussion environment. Everything that gets posted gets read again and again. The fact that the discussion isn't real time means that it rarely turns into heated arguments as people are given time to research and consider their comments before replying, this makes for mostly high-quality discussion.
The main disadvantage of having a yahoo group is that it fills your inbox regarding every post. So if 10 posts are created in every member will receive 10 emails. If you have subscribed to a number of groups and you are unable to open a couple of weeks, like me, your inbox will get filled with so many unread emails that it will be difficult to sort them out or even delete them!
This is where forums come in. Everything posted on a forum remains on the forum, and NOT in your inbox. Thus you can remain in touch with everyone of your particular community and still have a cleaner inbox
